Get into this: Anna Fabo

As you may or may not know, I am currently living, working and thriving in Seoul, South Korea.
I am the author and photographer of this blog and I feel that I cannot handle two blogs. Well, to be more honest, I do not wish to split myself in two (writing for this one and This Time in Seoul).
I have some important projects that I want to focus on, give all of my spare time and energy to.

I know what I must do but I’ll keep it light this Friday.

Anyone who has the intelligence to be inspired and uplifted then and now by Eartha Kitt is worth paying attention to.
I can hardly wait to wear my own trench coat here in the streets of Seoul, complete with headscarves of every hue.
Bravo to Aquascutum and their lovely ad both then and now.

For some reason this emblem/statue makes me want to laugh every time I pass it by. Amidst all the grey, here’s this huge wheel smack dab in the middle of the sidewalk.

Isn’t wonderful how everyday you have the opportunity to learn something new everyday.
I was in Hongdae last week and had to stop and visit Mr. Kim at the Design Museum. To my luck he was actually in and nothing had actually changed inside my favorite cafe in Seoul, except… There was a new piece of furniture tucked away but coyly on display. I was attracted by the caramel colored leather and the curves, oh the curves!
Joe Colombo was one of Italy’s “most influential furniture product designers”. I will investigate further as I need to take the time to not only shoot interesting design but learn about the designer him or herself. His life was brief, he died at the tender age of 41 but nevertheless made something of his life here. He produced. He made his thoughts and ideas concrete, tangible.
I may be more impressed with his life than with the making of this chair. That’s what it comes down to in the end. The chair, named after his wife, was and still is an unconventional beauty.

Since my place is small and sleek I just want to have clean lines, I want that my skin color and the color of my photographs be the only things that bring strong color to the table. I believe that I am at time in my life where I seek simplicity in just about everything that I encounter. Where is this coming from? I don’t know, but I’m going with it.

I am so focused on living well and wellness that I don’t even want to be distracted by a drinking glass. I bought some glasses that look similar to these courtesy of Ochre in NY and Lord help me to find a desk and chair this quietly bold here in Seoul. Amen.

I don’t know how I’m going to do both, but I will try.
You will find me mostly on my other blog This Time in Seoul where I talk about design, culture, anything that I happen to find interesting in this wonderfully hectic city called Seoul.
I hope that you join me there as well, I will not abandon This Time Now, I just have to find another angle for it while I’m back in Seoul.

I had the pleasure of visiting family in Northern Virginia last week and…drumroll… was given the master bedroom! Heaven! Thank you, Family! What’s so cool about the MB is that it has an incredible master bathroom! One thing (really three) that I will have in my future home are three incredible bathrooms, his, The Queen’s (yours truly), and honored guests. The walk-in shower is simply lovely, so inviting and above all, has great lighting. What does all of this mean? I slept like a baby and ran enjoyed sleeping in a real bed again: HEAVEN.

As a child I would part my hair in the middle, tie it either in a bun or two thick pigtails and grab one of my mother’s scarves and play “gypsy queen” or Queen Felicia (not confined to an Eastern European location). I love everything that scarves represent: mystery, versatility, playfulness and warmth.
These looks are a part of outlook on design. Design is everything and everywhere.
